About

Hi! I am an author-illustrator drawing from her Muslim, Bangladeshi-American, first-generation immigrant experience (pun intended!). When I came to America at the age of five, I didn’t know how to speak English. After living in the East, West, Midwest, and South, I learned that kindness is the universal language. I am passionate about nurturing empathy and cultural curiosity in kids and share educational resources about Muslim American holidays on my blog entitled “IslamiMommy” (https://www.islamimommy.com). I currently live in Los Angeles with my family of picture book readers.

I am represented by Tanusri Prasanna at DeFiore and Company.
